ABOUT US

  Curtis Watkins, tenor, pianist and organist is a graduate of 
  Newark’s Arts High School and received his Bachelor of Music 
  degree from Manhattan School of Music with a major in Vocal 
  Performance.  Though the majority of his career has been 
  dedicated to classical vocal and operatic performance and   
  music education, he has established himself as a pianist and 
  organist  in classical, liturgical, popular and cocktail music, as 
  both soloist and accompanist.  He served for several years as 
  an accompanist for the Newark Public Schools after teaching 
  there for over a decade.  He has accompanied many singers 
  and instrumentalists in the Northern New Jersey area. 

 

Mr. Watkins has performed in major hotels and banquet halls for weddings, cocktail hours, private and civic functions and is a popular choice for parties in private homes in New Jersey, New York City and Westchester County.  He has also served as organist and choir director of St. Rose of Lima Church in Newark, NJ for 27 years, organist at the Church of Our Lady of Good Counsel in Newark for 4 years and is currently organist and choir director of Our Lady Queen of Angels, also in Newark. In 2005 Mr. Watkins became the pianist and assistant to the director of the legendary male ensemble, the North Jersey Philharmonic Glee Club.
