
Phillip Field began
studying piano at the age of seven. As a student of Genevieve
Chiappinelli, he made his Carnegie hall debut at the age of eleven.
A graduate of the Pingry School in Hillside, NJ, he also conducted the Pingry Glee
Club while being on tour throughout Europe and the U.S.
Phil, a native of East Orange, has 30 years of experience as a
performer, record producer, composer, arranger and musical director.
He composed and performed much of the music for the television show
New York Undercover. His film credits include “Jason’s Lyric”
and “Native Son”. He has collaborated with a wide range of artist
from Broadway actor James Naughton to jazz legend Roy Aryers. In 1993
he co-founded with his wife Dee Jackson Field, the South Valley Arts
Group for young people which has arts education and performance
programs. For ten years he was Musical director at Trinity Episcopal
Church in Montclair and is currently Minister of Music at Trinity & St. Phillip’s
Cathedral for Newark’s Episcopal Diocese.
